Mike Chatterton: Director of Basketball Operations for the Boise Slam

The Boise Slam Basketball Club was founded by Mike Chatterton in the Fall of 2010.  Since inception, the program has been among the most successful basketball clubs in the Boise Valley.  Mike is committed to making the Boise Slam experience a positive and beneficial experience for every player at every level of interest and ability.

Mike Chatterton has 18 years of Varsity Basketball Coaching Experience at Vallivue High School, Minico High School and Centennial High School.  During 14 years as Head Coach at Vallivue his teams qualified for the State Tournament 8 of the last 10 years.  They Were State Champions in 2001 & 2008, District Champions in 2003 & 2009 and Conference Champions in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007 & 2008.

Mike was the Director and Coach of the Idaho Select Basketball Organization from 1998-2002.  The goal of Idaho Select Basketball was to provide a continuing opportunity for High School basketball players to compete with the best in Idaho and the best in the nation.  Idaho Select Basketball competed in national tournaments in Las Vegas and Los Angeles providing exposure in front of college coaches.  The organization was a non-profit organization ran through the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame.

During 1986-1993 Mike worked Summer Basketball Camps at Boise State University, Washington State University, University of Washington and University of Utah.  Working College Camps in the Northwest gave him valuable Basketball Camp Coaching Experience.

Mike played College basketball at Idaho State University from 1986-1989.  At ISU, the Bengals were 1987 Big Sky Champions and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.  In the First Round of the NCAA Tournament Idaho State played the UNLV Runnin Rebels (UNLV was the #1 Ranked Team in the Nation).  At Idaho State, Mike was named the Team Freshman Player of the Year and was on the Academic All-Conference Team.

Mike transferred and played College basketball at Northwest Nazarene University from 1991-1993.  In 1992 NNU was Conference Champions and competed in the NAIA National Tournament.  In 1993 NNU qualified for the National Tournament and played in the NAIA Final Four.  At NNU Mike was 2 year Team Captain, Team MVP and All Conference Player.

Mike played High School Basketball at Boise High School from 1983-1986.  In 1986 Boise High won the State Championship.  He was voted All Metro, All Conference and All State.
